National Parks & Nature Reserves

 

Diversity and contrast is abundant across Indonesia. This is made possible as the country stands between two geographical regions, the Oriental plate and the Australian plate. Resulting in two distinct characteristics of two continents within one country.

 

In order to conserve these gifts of nature the Indonesian government has formed numerous National Parks and Reserves across the archipelago under the authority of the Ministry of Forestry. This has indeed protected many fragile areas yet has made them at times more difficult to access and enjoy.
